OUR MISSION
The mission of the Wound Care Clinic is to deliver evidence based and cost effective wound care at medical aid rates to the community and to deliver a professional service.
To act as advocate for and educator to patients by actively contributing to and interacting with the multidisciplinary team involved in the patient’s care and to acknowledge limitations and work within the scope of practice.
About Us
Bio
Febe Bruwer is a Registered Nurse, Advanced Nurse Specialist (PhD, B. Cur, MSocSci, MSc, IIWCC).
She has been the owner of Nianwi Health Care, a wound care and wellness clinic in Johannesburg, South Africa, from 2001 to date.
Febe holds two master’s degrees as well as a PhD from the University of the Free State. She has extensive post-basic training and research experience and is currently engaged in several research projects and product development.
Febe is regarded as a key opinion leader in wound management and is passionate about standardisation and wound management education. She has several publications in peer-reviewed journals like Advances in Skin and Wound care, Wounds International and Wound Healing SA.
Febe loves training and education, sharing knowledge and empowering Nurses to be the best they can be. She strives to live by the motto “Do the best you can until you know better, then do better” Maya Angelo.
Bio
Regina is a registered nurse, Wound Care Practitioner and Certified Lymphoedema therapist RN (Dip), IWCC (Toronto).
Her work experience includes pharmacy clinics and working with general practitioners. Her passion to learn more about wound management started when she developed a Venous leg ulcer years ago. This was where her wound care journey started.
Mentored by Dr Febe Bruwer, she completed IIWCC and started her own practice in 2022 when she joined the wound clinic at Life Roseacres Hospital. She furthered her studies by qualifying as a Lymphoedema therapist, with knowledge and skills in Manual lymph drainage and compression therapy.
Regina believes in patient-centered care where the patient remains the captain of the ship in the decision-making process. Her treatment philosophy encompasses dignity and respect for those requiring wound management.
